Teledyne Brown Engineering held a ground breaking ceremony for its newest addition on October 19, 2017 at its Huntsville, Alabama location. This 22,000 square foot manufacturing facility will be the 9th building constructed on the company’s main campus. This facility is being constructed in a manner that allows for simplified expansion to accommodate anticipated and continued growth.
This construction is a part of an expansion plan to grow the company’s current capabilities which include building and integrating complex hardware and systems for the defense, maritime, energy and space markets. As a part of this effort the company will also increase its systems integration floor space. Teledyne Brown Engineering’s campus will now offer a total of 132,000 square feet of manufacturing.
“We have seen an increase in the number of programs we possess that involve manufacturing which led us to begin expanding our capacity and capability,” says President of Teledyne Brown Engineering, Jan Hess. “Building this facility will allow us to meet growing demands for complex systems across multiple markets.”
Teledyne Brown Engineering was the original owner and first tenant of the land that is now Cummings Research Park. The company began in Huntsville 64 years ago to support Von Braun’s Redstone Rocket program. Since then, the company has continuously grown its capabilities and business supplying advanced systems, integration and hardware for harsh environments in numerous domains worldwide.
