TBE announced addition of Shane Deichman to its Business Development and Acquisitions Group

Shane Deichman Image Teledyne Brown Engineering announced the addition of Shane Deichman to its Business Development and Acquisitions Group as the Senior Business Development Director and will be based at the company’s Colorado Springs office.  Shane will manage growth opportunities across multiple business sectors to include Space, Defense, and Energy. 

“Shane is a significant and well respected addition to our company,” stated Teledyne Brown Engineering President, Jan Hess. “In this new position he will be leading efforts to manage many of our emerging market opportunities utilizing the company’s extensive capabilities and resources.”

Shane joins Teledyne Brown Engineering after working with the Missile Defense Agency for nearly nine years, most recently as the Program Manager for Space Integration and Early Warning in the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications Directorate. Prior to his work at MDA, Shane’s experience includes seven years at the United States Joint Forces Command’s Joint Futures Lab as the Experiment Operations Director where he was responsible for finding and evaluating new ideas and “disruptive innovations” that enabled transformational defense capabilities. He has supported the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Industrial Base Capabilities Studies, was a founding member of U.S. Joint Forces Command’s Industry Engagement Board, and has served as a Government Advisor to numerous Defense Science Board Task Forces and Summer Studies.

Shane is a graduate of the U.S. Naval War College and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government “Senior Executive Fellows” Program. He possesses a Master of Science in Engineering Systems from Naval Postgraduate School-Monterey, a Master of Science degree in Management from Salve Regina University and a Baccalaureate in Nuclear Physics from the University of California at Berkeley. Shane has lectured on military innovation at the Pentagon, the State Department, as well as service, joint, and international war colleges, and has published several articles on innovation and warfighting. He was selected as one of the Hampton Roads region’s “Top 40 under 40” entrepreneurs by Inside Business in 2005, and has received three Joint Meritorious Unit Awards.
