Missile Defense
Teledyne Brown Engineering has made major contributions to America's Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) programs for over four decades, including Nike-X, Safeguard, LoADS, SDI, GPALS, and many others. The Missile Defense Business Unit continues with this heritage.
- As National Missile Defense was initiated, we participated in studies, hardware developments, system integration, and test activities.
- In the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program, we are the largest non-hardware team-mate providing comprehensive support.
- We assisted with the GM hit-to-kill demonstrations that led to a deployment decision and are now participating in site activitations.
- Our well-established capabilities are also being directed toward activities in boost phase and terminal defense against the ballistic threat.
- We developed and maintain the Integrated System Test Capability (ISTC), a high-fidelity, real-time, distributed simulation for missile defense systems.
